the bill wasnt to fund ICE by itself the bill was to FUND THE GOVERNMENT PERIOD. Like seriously voting no to stop funding the government specifically to stop ICE from being funded is 1. not actually going to deal with the problem of abolishing ICE and 2. Only will continue to harm those who are affected by the shutdown. Like those whos families need the welfare programs that the bill voted to fund??

 If we want to abolish ICE you dont do that by just saying ‘hi i vote to stop funding it’ once?? it takes LEGISLATION and WORK. Not just voting on one bill that isnt even focused on the issue at hand.

Some people… are like super fucking ignorant and it’s mind blowing.  If you click YOUR OWN SOURCE, Xevinali, they say “It turns out, she along with the entire Democratic Party caucus in the House of Representatives voted to fund ICE on their very first day in office.” Sounds like you’re right, huh?  Except “House of Representatives voted to fund ICE“ is a link, which you clearly did not click.  That’s modern websites weird little way to cite THEIR sources.  So when you look at that source, it takes you to a Washington Post article.  If you read the Washington Post article, you’d know they COMPLETELY miscited it and the Washington Post article confirms EXACTLY what @nakedinasnowsuit showed you in her source in that a collection of bills to reopen the entire fucking Government and NOT just ICE was passed.  It’s ridiculous that you actually cited sources that not only misused other sources, but that the sources they used actually DIRECTLY confirmed how wrong your position is.  Amazing.
